I’ve made these a few delicious times and they were a huge hit! With grilling season upon us, I hope to find an opportunity to enjoy this recipe once again. This is based on the Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers recipe I found online a few years ago.
Jalapeno and Cream Cheese Stuffed Burgers
Ingredients for 4 Burgers:
1/2 cup seeded, chopped, fresh jalapeno peppers
1 8 oz. package of room temperature softened cream cheese
1 pound of ground meat (I use 93/7 lean beef)
salt, pepper and McCormick Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning (to taste)
4 hamburger buns (not calculated into the nutrition info)
Like the original recipe says, preheat the grill on medium and once it’s hot, lightly oil the grate.
While it’s heating, form eight meat patties 1/4″ thick. Season the patties with Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning, salt and pepper to your liking. Set aside.
Mix the chopped jalapeno peppers into the cream cheese in a small bowl until mixed well. I reach in there with my hands to mix it, but you could do this with a couple of spoons. The original recipe calls for a full cup of jalapenos, but that seemed to be over-doing it – adjust this to your liking.
Spoon the cream cheese filling into the center of four of the patties and then place an empty patty onto each one with cream cheese. Gently press all around the cream cheese filling and the sides to form four filled burger patties.
Grill for ten minutes per side or until well done and DO NOT press the burgers while cooking or the filling could ooze out into your grill. Serve on toasted buns! I’ve found that I need to omit the ketchup and mustard with this burger because it overpowers the cream cheese. Instead, I use a little mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato and sometimes a sliced avocado instead of the tomato.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family and I did!
